Brothers and Sisters,
As 2006 rolls to a close we look forward to 2007 with a very familiar looking Executive
Board and Board of Trustees.
Congrats to our Local Officers and Stewards who have put in many hours of work ensuring
that the Union provides the high quality services our members have come to expect. Their
continued labour as elected officers guarantees that the Local will benefit from their
hard work and valuable insights into the future.
No one runs for and holds elected office without realizing that they have taken on a
commitment to do their best on behalf of our membership. I know all of us thank them for
their diligence, integrity and commitment. On behalf of everyone, especially myself, thank
you for helping to make the Local better.
As you have noticed, our new website is up and running. However, bear with us as it is
still under construction. Your feedback is encouraged during this process and please let
me know your thoughts.
Finally, thanks to all of you for making our Union so great. Your thoughts, insights and
efforts are second to no other Union that I know. It is a privilege and an honour for me
to be able to continue my association with you all.
Whatever holidays you celebrate, and at whatever time of year you celebrate them, holidays
are times when we gather together the people we think of as family. We eat, laugh, tell
old stories and plan new ones.
At this time of the year, many of us are caught up in plans with our children, spouses,
friends and extended family, intent on making a holiday for the people we live with and
love.
May all blessings abound to you and your family this holiday season, and may it be your
happiest and most fulfilling ever.
