2009 GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Local 524 is proud to
announce the following members who were successful in the recent election:

We are welcoming some wonderful new stewards and information stewards aboard!

Anjum Zia will be attending some OPSEU training classes to
further his union knowledge base in order to better serve the membership and strongly
encourages other stewards to do so. To find out more about OPSEU training courses, click

On a sad note, our OPSEU staff representative, Twila Marston
will be moving on to represent members closer to her home and we will miss her energy,
enthusiasm and devotion to our Local. Best of luck, Twila with your new job (with OPSEU)

| Important Message
from Local 524 President, Lois L. Scott to the membership clarify the recent Vote
on the Central and Universal Agreements |
Many of you have seen the
OPSEU and OPS email regarding the outcome of our vote on the Central and Unified
Agreements. However, some of you are still confused as to the outcome of the vote.
I want to clarify it for you:
The Corrections vote has absolutely nothing to do with us in Local
524 - go to the OPSEU website at http://www.opseu.org and read what
has been posted. Our contract is ratified and in place.If
you still have any questions, please do not hesitate to call any of your OPSEU local
representatives. We, Local 524, will not be going on strike. |
